La Gavia WWTP
Madrid, Spain
Wastewater
Project type
172,800 m³/day
Daily capacity
The La Gavia WWTP project comprises the design and construction of the wastewater network for the southeast area of Madrid, including a treatment plant with a capacity of 950,000 population equivalent and a treatment flow of 45.6 million gal/day.
The scope of works includes the connection of the facility to two existing main collectors, as well as the discharge of treated effluent into the Manzanares River, ensuring compliance with the highest environmental and effluent quality standards.

The plant incorporates high-efficiency cogeneration systems, optimizing energy recovery from the treatment process and positioning the facility as a highly energy-efficient infrastructure, reinforcing its contribution to the sustainability of the integrated water cycle.
