The project comprises the construction of an 11.7-mile high-speed railway platform forming part of the Figueras–Perpignan High-Speed Line, within the Madrid–Zaragoza–Barcelona–French Border corridor.

This section is located immediately upstream of the Pertus tunnels, with a total length of 5.1 miles—also constructed by DRAGADOS—which cross the Pyrenees and enable the high-speed rail connection between Spain and France.

The infrastructure has been designed for mixed passenger and freight traffic, with a maximum operating speed of 180 mph and a minimum speed of 74.6 mph for freight trains, ensuring high capacity and operational flexibility.

A key feature of this section is the construction of six major viaducts, four of which were built using self-launching formwork, a solution that minimized interventions in the valleys crossed and significantly reduced the environmental impact of the works.
