The project consists of the construction of a 6 mile segment of high-speed rail trackway civil infrastructure as part of the Madrid – Levante high speed rail system, with a double track and a speed of 135 mph.

The project consists of the construction of a 6 mile segment of high-speed rail trackway civil infrastructure as part of the Madrid – Levante high speed rail system, with a double track and a speed of 135 mph.
The project also includes the construction of two viaducts located at the portals of the tunnel. Under the first viaduct, the Callosa-Cox viaduct, are the building, parking and roundabouts of the new Middle Distance Railway Station of Callosa-Cox, whose sidings and platforms are located on the deck of the viaduct.
