The A-4 Motorway Wierzchosławice–Krzyż forms part of Poland’s east-west transport corridor strategy, strengthening connections between Kraków, the Małopolska region and the borders with Germany and Ukraine.

The project comprises 13 km of dual carriageway motorway, integrated into the future Tarnów bypass and designed to improve regional connectivity along one of Poland’s principal transport routes.
The works included the construction of the Krzyż interchange, service roads, rest areas and a 700 m-long viaduct over the Dunajec River, one of the most significant structures within the alignment.
