The S8 Expressway delivered 59 km of new dual carriageway in the Łódź region, strengthening one of Poland’s main strategic road corridors and improving national connectivity.

The project comprised the construction of three expressway sections with two lanes in each direction and a design speed of 100 km/h, together with interchanges, service areas, wildlife crossings and associated infrastructure.






Key elements included major viaducts crossing the Warta and Grabia rivers, as well as environmental measures designed to improve integration with the surrounding landscape

Section 3: 8 miles highway with 2 lanes in each direction and a 39 feet median in anticipation of future lane widening. 2 service areas, 7 overpasses, 1 underpass, 2 animal overpasses, and 30 service paths.

Section 5: 21 miles highway with 2 lanes. 3 interchanges, 2 service areas and 1 maintenance point. 3 viaducts (Warta River, 3,117 ft long; Grabia River, 2,756 ft long; Konska River, 738 ft long), 15 underpasses, 10 overpasses, 1 pass over the channel and 2 walkways.

Section 6 and 7: 5.7 and 2 miles. 2 interchanges, 1 viaduct Grabia River, 1,050 ft long, 4 underpasses, and 6 overpasses.
