The Aberdeen Harbour Expansion Project at Nigg Bay (Scotland) delivers 1,700 metres of additional quay length and a minimum depth of 9 metres across an operational laydown area exceeding 125,000 square metres.

The works include extensive dredging operations, reaching depths of up to –12.95 m CD, combined with controlled rock blasting to allow manoeuvring and access for large vessels.
A new 620 metre northern breakwater has been constructed, consisting of a rubble mound core, a sub layer of 1–3 tonne rock armour, and a final armour layer of 8 m³ acropodes.

The development also features substantial land reclamation, using both imported materials and treated dredged material, amounting to over 362,000 m³ of fill and 87,000 m³ of rock armour.

A distinctive element of the project is the provision of 22 reinforced concrete caissons, manufactured in Spain, transported by semi submersible vessel to Cromarty, and later towed to Aberdeen for installation.
