The New Dry Dock at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard forms part of the United States Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimisation Program (SIOP) and is intended to support the maintenance and construction of Virginia Class nuclear submarines.
The facility includes a new dry dock measuring 215 m in length and 43 m in width, designed for operation within one of the Pacific region’s most important naval bases.

FlatironDragados project covers demolition works, dredging, new electrical substations, support buildings, pumping systems, quay works, dock gates and the extensive infrastructure required for operation of the new facility.

One of the most distinctive aspects of the scheme is the construction of the dock floor using nine large precast reinforced concrete units, towed into position and installed through controlled flooding of internal cells before structural infilling and completion of the perimeter walls.
