The Northeast Anthony Henday Drive (NEAHD) project delivered 27 km of new ring road infrastructure, completing a key transport corridor within Edmonton’s metropolitan road network.
Delivered by Dragados under an Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP) model, the project forms part of Alberta’s investment strategy to improve mobility, strengthen market access and support economic growth through major transport infrastructure.
The new route connects Manning Drive with the area south of Whitemud Drive through a six-to-eight-lane motorway designed to accommodate growing traffic demand and improve travel efficiency across Edmonton.
The development included a substantial number of road, rail and river crossing structures, including the twin bridges over the North Saskatchewan River, one of the defining features of the corridor.
