The works, commissioned by the Government of Gibraltar, involved the construction of a new passenger terminal at Gibraltar Airport, together with the expansion of the aircraft ramp, aircraft stand areas, and the associated customs and logistics facilities.
The project also included a new roadway for vehicular access, provisional hangar facilities, and new cargo handling and airport vehicle installations, all carried out while maintaining the existing airport fully operational throughout the construction works.

The terminal, a modern glass-and-steel structure, comprises two floors accommodating offices, security screening areas, cafés, and three baggage carousels, while the ground floor is dedicated to passenger access and check-in.
The building provides a total constructed floor area of 296,000 sq. ft, located on the isthmus linking Gibraltar with Spain, only a short distance from the urban centers of Gibraltar and La Línea de la Concepción.
