The Durham East End Connector provides a new direct connection between the Durham Freeway (NC147) and Miami Boulevard (US70), improving access to both I 85 and I 40 and strengthening mobility across one of North Carolina’s fastest-growing metropolitan areas.

The scheme included the construction of 6.4 km of highway infrastructure together with the upgrade of part of US70 to freeway standards through new interchanges, flyovers and associated roadway improvements

The project developed by FlatironDragados required extensive traffic management, including nearly 40 traffic shifts and more than 15 temporary alignments, allowing traffic to be maintained throughout construction.
